Password Recovery / DIY vs professional

DIY options vs professional recovery

Some lockouts belong with the vendor’s own reset flow. Others are file- or device-level passwords where a professional attempt may help — only if you are authorized.

Try the vendor first when it fits

Online accounts (Microsoft, Google, Apple ID, bank portals, SaaS) usually have official account-recovery paths. Use those. We are not a substitute for vendor identity verification on cloud accounts we do not control.

When file or local-PC recovery is the problem

Password-protected Office/PDF/ZIP files, QuickBooks company files, supported password manager vaults, and local Windows logins on machines you control often cannot be fixed by “forgot password” on a website. That is the lane this service is for — after assessment and proof.

What we will not help you DIY

We do not publish crack tutorials, attack recipes, or steps meant to bypass security on assets you do not own. If a guide would only help unauthorized access, it does not belong here.

When paying for assessment is reasonable

The file or PC matters for business continuity or estate administration, DIY vendor paths do not apply, you can document authority, and you want a feasibility read plus a clear quote before spending on a long attempt.

Also worth knowing

  • Out of scope for us even as a paid job: BitLocker/FileVault, domain admin, crypto wallets, mobile decryption, macOS Keychain.
  • If DIY “unlocker” sites ask you to upload sensitive estate or client files with no authority check, treat that as a risk — not a recommendation.

Questions about this page

Can I just download a free unlocker?

That is your choice and risk. Free tools do not replace proof of authority, custody discipline, or a scoped professional engagement. We only work authorized requests under our process.

Will you walk me through cracking a file myself?

No. We offer authorized recovery as a service, not attack tutorials.

Ready to proceed?

Assessment is $149 (non-refundable). We confirm scope and authority before any recovery work.
