Password Recovery / What we do & don’t

What we do and don’t do

Clear scope protects you and us. Below is what this service is built for — and what we will not take on, even if asked.

In scope (authorized requests only)

We attempt recovery for password-protected Microsoft Office files, PDFs, common archives (ZIP / 7z / RAR), Outlook/Access scenarios we assess as in scope, QuickBooks and FileMaker company-file style locks, supported password manager vaults, and Windows local account unlock/reset when you can show you control the machine. VBA project passwords and some Microsoft Live ID local-reset scenarios may qualify as Quick unlock after assessment.

Out of scope — we will not attempt

Full-disk encryption (BitLocker, FileVault, and similar), Domain Administrator unlocks, cryptocurrency wallets, mobile device decryption, and macOS Keychain. We also refuse any request that appears unauthorized, incomplete, or inconsistent with the authority you claim.

What “recovery” means here

Depending on the asset, recovery may mean returning a working password, performing an authorized reset, or delivering an unlocked copy. We confirm which outcome we are aiming for in your quote after assessment. Success is best-effort; strong passwords may never fall.

Also worth knowing

  • Use the on-page scope checker on the main Password Recovery page for a quick yes/no by type.
  • If you are unsure whether your lockout fits, start with assessment — we will say no when it is out of scope.

Questions about this page

Can you unlock BitLocker or a phone?

No. Full-disk encryption and mobile device decryption are outside this service. We will tell you that up front rather than take the job.

Do you guarantee every password can be recovered?

No. Assessment estimates feasibility. Recovery is best-effort. You are not charged a success fee if we do not restore access after the agreed attempt.

Ready to proceed?

Assessment is $149 (non-refundable). We confirm scope and authority before any recovery work.
